Ultra small and light gyro system with AVCS (Angular Velocity Control System) and latest MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) sensor technology.
The latest gyro technology has a name, GY-520. The latest sensor technology has been used for the new gyro generation, MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems). The advantage of these new sensors lies in the fact that one can integrate them together all on a single chip with a high speed Proportiona-Integral-Device (PID) controller.
By combining the sensor and control electronics together, the device is more compact, which leads to a much smaller package of 20 x 20 x 10 mm. A further advantage of the MEMS Sensors is their increased speed, particularly for the fast 3D figures and F3N aerobatics, GY 520 offers a faster control and harder "tail lock". Furthermore, the speed is identical for left or right hand rotation. To avoid vibration effects, the lower casing is made in metal, whereby the GY 520 can be used for all helicopter types (Electric and IC) and sizes. Not only is the size and weight of the GY 520 ideal for small helis, like the T-REX 250, but also the control characteristics are perfect also. The light weight of small helis need fast sensing and control speeds. Due to the highly integrated Single_Chip layout, the gyro has an external connector block for signal/power cables. Both sides of the connector block can be used, using different servo cables (plug/plug) of differing lengths, makes it convenient to install the gyro system into different sized models. |
